In 2024, the “A Laboratory in Your Pocket” program celebrates its second year at the Padre Alberto Hurtado Educational Center, after starting as a pilot in 2023. Thanks to the collaboration between MolymetNos and Lab4U, this project has revolutionized science education in San Bernardo, connecting students with the molybdenum and rhenium extraction industry while fostering their curiosity and preparing them for a future full of opportunities in science and technology.
The program places particular emphasis on the Industrial Chemistry Technician specialty, which is crucial for the academic and professional development of the young people at the school. Throughout the year, four passionate teachers guided their students, who explored Lab4U tools and applied their knowledge practically, facing real-world industrial scenarios.
Through the experiment “Relentless Precipitation,” students gain a unique experience of the molybdenum extraction industry processes. This approach not only develops fundamental technical skills but also prepares them to face future challenges with confidence.
All of this is driven by MolymetNos‘ commitment to improving the students’ conceptual foundation and enhancing learning around the productive processes and waste management of the industry.
